Point your IRC client to irc.boredirc.com:6667 and you’re set. If you do not have a dedicated client, a web client is available via mibbit, or you can use the Chat Now page on the sidebar.
For the more technically minded, BoredIRC consists of three servers:
- irc.boredicons.com (New Jersey, USA): Run by e1, and also runs NickServ and friends. Supports SSL on port 6697 as well as IPv6 connections.
- irc.twigathy.com (Netherlands): Run by Twigathy. Supports SSL on port 6697.
- irc.durd.net (Sweden): Run by ToeCutter. Supports SSL on port 6697.
The irc.boredirc.com server is a round-robin that will connect you to one of the three, so in the case that one of the servers is offline you just need to reconnect to get a different one.
