BoredIRC is a tiny backwater IRC network populated by some horrible combination of old Total Annihilation players, Zelda fans, and a lot of friends of one British guy. Seriously it’s like his whole uni is here. Anyway, here’s the basics as currently in the servers’ rules:
Opers are everyone, Twigathy, and ToeCutter. e1 is the network admin.
The only real rule is don’t be a dick to other people.
Beyond that, some technical stuff:
- No botnets or anything blatantly horrible like that.
- No bots with a larger scope than just one channel without talking to e1 first (ie, things that communicate with things outside the IRC network, that kind of thing. If in doubt, ask, it’s just to keep track of these things)
- No using this network to deliberately help blatantly illegal things etc.
- Channel rules may be a superset of network rules, but not less than these.
- No restriction on adult material is made at the network level. Enforcment is up to individual channels.
We also make no guarantee of uptime, but this is why we have more than one server. Services are on irc.boredicons.com, if that fails, they will too.
- Current servers in rotation: irc.twigathy.com irc.durd.net irc.boredicons.com, irc.boredirc.com is the domain for more than one server
